Meet Brad Schneider July 26, 2017

Have you met Brad?

brad_200x240 He's one of our Sales Directors and he will be attending ALEA this week. Brad works with a lot of our airborne law enforcement customers as he used to be the Officer-in-Charge for the Air Support Division in the Ontario Police Department!

We talked with Brad about his background and why he enjoys working with law enforcement operators on the business aviation side.

Tell us about your career in law enforcement.

I served in the Ontario Police Department in California for 30 years. During those 30 years I was in Forensics, Field Operations, Investigations, SWAT - but the majority of the time was spent with the Air Support Unit. I was full-time in the Air Support Unit for 15 years and another 5 as a part-time Relief Pilot. During my assignment with Air Support, I was Chief Pilot for 7 of those years and 8 years as the Officer-in-Charge of the division.

How did you make the jump from law enforcement to the aviation industry?

As I was beginning to wind down my law enforcement career towards retirement, I was contacted by an OEM who thought I would be a good fit for doing new aircraft sales. It was a great transition into the private sector: being able to keep my passion for aviation and working with a diverse range of industries and sectors including law enforcement and public safety.

What do you enjoy most about working with law enforcement agencies?

Law enforcement is a very unique and important profession. It's exciting to be able to support their mission and be a part of something bigger. It's rewarding to help our law enforcement customers keep flying so they can safely complete their mission with the best possible product.

It's also a great way to stay connected to my law enforcement "family".My background helps me identify their needs and the knowledge I've gained from working on the OEM side and with Heli-One lets me provide cost-effective solutions that keep them flying safely.

Coming from airborne law enforcement, I recognize the importance of quality and safety - especially considering the high-risk type of missions being performed. Every day officers put their lives on the line, doing essential and high risk work and it's an honor to help them support their mission of keeping the public safe.

What do you love about aviation?

It's exciting! Once you get into the industry, it's hard to leave. The people you work with in aviation are great. It's a small but large community and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

What are you most looking forward to about ALEA Expo 2017?

I'm definitely looking forward to learning about some of the new trends in the industry and how we can better support our customers. Meeting new people and familiarizing them with Heli-One and of course catching up with friends!

Meet Brad this week at ALEA Expo 2017 from Wednesday July 26 to Friday July 28 at Booth 201.
