Heli-One Launches Build-to-Spec Program February 24, 2016

February 24, 2016 – Delta, Canada – Heli-One, a leading global provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, is pleased to announce its new ‘Build-to-Spec’ Exchange Program for engines and components. The ‘Build–to-Spec’ Program provides customers with the flexibility to customize the specifications of an exchange asset such as: hours of use, condition, lead time, and cost.

Exchanges allow operators to minimize aircraft downtime by having a serviceable engine or component ready for immediate installation. With the ‘Build-to-Spec’ Program customers can further tailor exchange requirements to their specific operational needs.  This is a time and cost-effective alternative to part replacement or the downtime associated with overhaul.

By leveraging Heli-One’s extensive component expertise, parts inventory, and in-house resources – Heli-One’s ‘Build-to-Spec’ team can provide a combination of strategic repair, exchange or replacement options to meet customers’ time, cost, and condition requirements.

For example, ‘Build-to-Spec’ customers can minimize downtime by utilizing Heli-One’s extensive inventory of new and repaired parts or reduce cost by commissioning the in-house Support Workshop for custom repairs. Technicians and engineers can also review records and operations to advise on additional time or cost-saving measures through the strategic application of repairs, upgrades, or modifications.

“Whether customers are looking for a newly overhauled part, a part with minimal time since its last overhaul, or a tailored solution to enable operations until the next required overhaul – Heli-One can help,” says Mike Whalen, Exchange Program Manager.

“We recognize that operators are looking for more options for their maintenance, repair, and overhaul needs. To respond to those demands, we have established a dedicated team to manage the Exchange Program, which includes expertise from our business solutions, technicians, engineering, and planning organizations,“ said Anthony DiNota, President, Heli-One. “Our unique range of in-house capabilities allows us to provide customers with more than just the basic parameters of exchange – we can now empower them to ‘Build-to-Spec’ with our suite of customizable exchange and repair options.
