Our capability to respond quickly and effectively to critical maintenance and repair requirements is one of the many reasons we continue to develop strong and long-term partnerships with our customers.
One of our customers, Airlift AS in Norway, had to call on such support recently, when a crack in the structure of the engine deck of their AS332C LN-OBX aircraft was discovered during final inspection. The aircraft was urgently needed for a critical firefighting mission in Bordeaux, but was grounded until a repair could be made.
Airlift knew they could turn to Heli-One for immediate support. We quickly mobilized and dispatched a Mobile Repair Team (‘MRT’) of structural D-level approved personnel to their facility in Norway, understanding the importance to get them mission ready.
The result: we were able to conduct a temporary repair to the snag, allowing the aircraft to be cleared for flight and deployed to France in time to conduct its mission, delivering vital life-saving services in the process.
Following the successful support of this critical mission, Heli-One provided Airlift with permanent repairs. We supported scheduled G-Checks for the aircraft at both the customer’s base and at Heli-One workshops, ensuring the aircraft could be deployed safely for future critical missions.
Erlend Haugsbø, Special Operations Manager at Airlift, commented: “We were extremely grateful to Heli-One for the rapid and effective support they were able to provide in-country at such short notice. Our operations rely on our ability to deploy aircraft to conduct critical work, whether in offshore environments or for onshore support services. It is very important for us to meet our customer expectations, and with Heli-One’s support, we were able to get mission ready and on firefighting duty in France as scheduled.”
It’s always fantastic to get such positive feedback from our customers, and to understand how our work has contributed to their success. I am delighted everything worked out, and am extremely proud of the whole Heli-One team that made this project a success.
At Heli-One, we pride ourselves on the strength of our customer relationships. This event with Airlift is just one example of how we are able work closely with our customers, understand their individual needs, and keep their aircraft mission ready, year-round.
